Matt Sharrers

Matt Sharrers is the Founder of ETJ Life and author of The Second CEO. He previously served as CEO of SBI, which was named one of Forbes’ Most Admired Consulting Firms. Through decades of working with private equity–backed companies, Matt has developed a deep network within the PE ecosystem and a proven playbook for helping CEOs navigate investor expectations, value creation, and leadership challenges. Matt serves as an Advisory Board Member of Tayeh Capital Group.

At ETJ Life, Matt leads the vision and development of the firm’s Navigator and Sage programs, designing the infrastructure that supports CEOs operating in high-pressure private equity environments. As a coach, he works directly with PE-backed CEOs to help them navigate the first 100 days in the role, strengthen leadership capacity and team dynamics, and align personal health and priorities with the demands of performance and growth. Matt is also a trusted advisor to PE-backed companies and boards, helping leadership teams build alignment with investors, strengthen team culture, and lead effectively through periods of rapid change. 

Matt holds a BA in history from The University of British Columbia.
